Warmth where you need it
Heating pads are fitted between the underfelt and carpet. Because the heat is close to the surface, this option responds relatively quickly and can be switched on when you need it.
A good fit for comfortable living spaces
Under carpet heating can suit bedrooms, living rooms and other carpeted spaces. In many cases an existing carpet can be lifted, the system installed, and the carpet refitted. Pad placement is planned for the useful open floor area rather than beneath heavy furniture.
- Suitable for many polypropylene, hessian-backed woven, coir and sisal carpets
- Thermostat and timer options help you control when the floor warms
- The original Imperial Heating guidance estimates a response time of around 20–30 minutes, depending on carpet type and thickness
What to consider
Foam-backed, rubber-backed and stick-down carpets are generally unsuitable. Carpet construction, underfelt and room layout should be checked before a quotation.
